Energy Practice
For decades, Sullivan Cove practitioners have dealt with the full spectrum of energy resources, coal, nuclear, oil and gas exploration and production, refinery and downstream issues. In addition, Sullivan Cove has advised state entities in the related areas of environmental protection and in legislative and regulatory policy. We have experience onshore and offshore, as well as with electrical generation and alternative energy sources.
Leveraging our vast experience in the more traditional areas of natural resources and electrical generation, transmission and distribution, Sullivan Cove has expanded its energy practice to the green fields of alternative energy. As contract advisor for the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC), Sullivan Cove played a central role in the drafting and adoption of regulations for Maryland’s offshore wind (OSW) energy production and, in a follow-on PSC contract, advised the PSC on the analysis and award of licenses for OSW projects on the Atlantic Shelf. Sullivan Cove is currently under contract to provide energy advice and services to the New York Power Authority and to the New Jersey Transit Authority.
