ENERGY LAW AND POLICY
Energy and mineral law and policy form one of the pillars of the professional practice at Sullivan Cove Consultants. For decades, our practicioners have dealt with the full spectrum of energy resources, coal, oil and gas exploration and production of refinery and downstream issues, as well as the related areas of environmental preservation and legislative regulatory policy. We have experience onshore and offshore, as well as with electrical generation and alternative engery sources such as solar, geothermal and wind power.
- In oil and gas, our team includes two former general counsel of major exploration and production companies. The former principal advisor to the Ministry of Geology of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the lead counsel for an independing refiner-marketer with two Texas refineries and 350 East Coast stations. Our members include former officers in three oil and gas assocations.
- In coal, we have a former in-house attorney for a major coal producer and the principal draftsperson of federal and state legislation regulating coalbed methane production.
- In electrical generation, we have the former president of the international subsidiary of a domestic utility which operated generating and distribution facilities in Central and South America.
- In alternative energy, our attorneys are advisors to a significant participant in the geothermal energy on policy and legal issues.
